Inexpensive, Amazing Banana Crepes In A Thailand Night Market

When you take a tour in Bangkok, Thailand, you are likely to find yourself going to one of the many night markets available. The tour we booked took us to Jodd Fairs which certainly was designed for tourists in mind, but since we were tourists, we took a nice walk around the crowded market to see all the wares and foods that were being sold. In this specific instance, I saw some crepes that I wanted to try. There were a few different flavor options and I went for one of my favorites, banana crepes.

After ordering, we got to watch the person make the crepes right in front of us. He used what appeared to be a butter for the oil and loaded lots of it in the cone shaped metal hot plate that he used to cook the dough before adding the bananas. After covering the bananas and flipping it over, more oil was added. Once the chef decided the crepe was ready, he took it out, placed it on was paper and poured what appeared to be condensed milk onto the cooked crepes and served them to us.

If you’ve ever made for yourself banana pancakes, then this is what it reminded me of, only sweeter like you might get in a dessert. It was tasty and worthy of a nice appetizer for the meal we were going to have that night at the market. Stay tuned.
