Broccoli Beef Take-Out But Better With This Remarkable Home Kitchen Version

Yes, this dish is one of the many Chinese dishes that was invented in America that American’s love, but the flavors with this home version will remind you of authentic Chinese food. The secret is in the sauce which is quite easy to make. In fact, this dish is so easy to make that you’ll never need to buy Chinese take-out again.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 lbs beef cut into strips
  • 4 broccoli crowns chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic diced

Marinade: 

  • 3 Tbsp cooking wine
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar

Sauce:

  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 3 Tbsp oyster sauce

Preparation:

  1. Put the sliced beef into the bowl and add the marinade. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Heat a large pan over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of the oil and once it is hot, add the broccoli and cook about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is nice and green. Set aside the broccoli.
  3.  Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the pot and the diced garlic till browned (about 1 minute)
  4. Add beef and cook, stirring constantly until the liquid in the pot has evaporated. Cook the beef a little longer to get a nice sear on the beef. 
  5. Move the beef to the edges of the pan. Add the beef stock and oyster sauce to the center of the pan stirring to combine well. Allow the sauce to boil. Stir the beef evenly around the pan.
  6. Return the broccoli to the top of the dish and turn down the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 8 minutes till the broccoli is tender.
  7. Serve over rice or noodles.
