If you buy lots of eggs, at least 2 dozen at a time, then you might want to look for solutions to both save space and make it easy to get to your raw eggs. So we tried out this egg dispenser from Amazon.com.
One thing we noticed right off is that the gravity drop for the eggs does not always work smoothly as you have to reach your hand into the dispenser and move a few of the eggs so that they will flow down the chute. A minor defect that I do not know how they could correct.
The other possible downfall for this product is the space you need in the refrigerator. It needs to be placed in a tall area like the milk shelf or the juice shelf or wherever you put the tall ingredients in the refrigerator. Fortunately for us, once we placed the dispensers in the tall area, the vacated area that used to be use for eggs can now be used for other shorter stuff that wasn’t taking up the tall space in the refrigerator. So we were actually able to organize the refrigerator better with these egg dispensers.
So are we glad we bought them? Absolutely. They might not perfectly dispense the eggs, but it doesn’t take much to manipulate the eggs that aren’t flowing down the stream and the space we saved in the refrigerator is worth that dispensing problem. Plus, when we buy 5 dozen eggs, it’s not always convenient to get those last few eggs out of the carton and not always easy to see where the last of the eggs are.
