The great thing about making food at your own home is that you get 100% control over the ingredients you put in as well as saving money by buying the ingredients yourself. One of the few exceptions to this rule, though, is coffee. It’s not your imagination, the espresso that you get at Starbucks will be better than your home version since they are always using freshly roasted coffee beans which you could only do at home if you are buying your beans daily. But smoothies don’t have that same drawback. Those fresh or frozen fruits that you use are always available for you. Try this recipe for a healthy fruit smoothie with a refreshing taste that you will certainly enjoy.
You may notice that this recipe is modified from the video version. I’m always trying to improve the recipe, so this one I believe is better as below.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup non fat Greek Yogurt
- 2 Cups frozen fruit (we love blueberries and cherries for this recipe)
- 1 Banana
- 2 Tablespoons Honey
- 3 Tablespoons Flax Seed Meal
- 1/4 cup of your favorite milk (ours is soy milk)
- Ice as needed.

Preparation:
- Place yogurt, fruit, banana, honey, and flax seed meal in a blender.
- Turn on the blender to blend all ingredients. Scrape the sides and push the food down if necessary.
- Once mixed well, add milk and ice to make the smoothie the consistency you desire.
- Pour into cups and enjoy!
