Unlike TV Shows that edit and cut to give the viewer no sense of the timing it takes to cook a meal, this stream will show you how long it truly takes to bake a pizza from the making of the dough and letting it rise, making your own sauce until it’s completely out of the oven which will take. approximately 3 hours to complete the entire cooking process.
The Only Dough Recipe You Will Need
Ingredients:
- 2 1/3 Cups Flour + Extra for your hands
- 1 Package of Fast Acting Yeast (1/4 oz)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 Tbsp Honey
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil + More for the Bowl
Preparation:
- Put 1 Cup of Flour, The Yeast and Salt in a mixing bowl. Stir to combine.
- Add Honey, Olive Oil and warm water to the bowl.
- Stir till it looks like pancake batter
- Add up to 1 and 1/3 cups of additional flour gradually while mixing till the dough forms a ball and doesn’t stick to the sides much.
- Oil up a large mixing bowl
- Roll the dough into a ball and put it in the mixing bowl with oil and roll it around to coat the ball of dough.
- Seal it with cling wrap so that no air can get in. Air will make the dough dry out.
- Set it aside in a warm place and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Take the dough out and roll it out into roughly a 12″ circle (or break it apart and make smaller circles for smaller pizzas)
- Place the dough on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Poke holes in the pizza dough to keep it from rising when baking.
- If you want to pre-bake the dough for a crispier/crunchier crust, set in a 450° F oven for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
A Sauce to Write Home About
Ingredients:
- 15 oz. Can of Tomato Sauce
- 1/2 Cup Onion
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp Olive oil
- 1/2 Tbsp Dried Basil
- 1/4 tsp Ground Oregano
- 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
Preparation:
- Chop onion and garlic
- Heat sauce pan over medium high heat, add olive oil and sauté the garlic and onion till browned (about 5 minutes)
- Add tomato sauce, basil, oregano and sugar and stir well.
- Let the sauce come to a boil then cover and simmer the sauce for at least 10 minutes.
Assembling and Baking Your Better than Take-Out Pizza
Ingredients:
- Dough (see above)
- Pizza Sauce (see above)
Suggested Toppings:
- 8 oz Mozarella Cheese
- 4 slices Canadian Bacon
- 12 slices Pepperoni
- 4 oz Rotisserie Chicken
- 2 slices of Bacon
- 6 Mushrooms sliced
- 1/4 of an Onion
- 1/2 Bell Pepper
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 500°
- Grate Cheese
- Chop the toppings
- Place the dough on parchment paper on a baking sheet
- Place sauce on the dough
- Place on the toppings of your choice
- Put in oven for 10-12 minutes
- Take out, cut and eat.
