You may have seen that many restaurants are including plant based meat substitutes into your favorite foods but how do they compare? Is the extra cost worth it? Will the influx of veggie patties, veggie dogs, and the like be able to replace your favorite meat? These questions are hard to answer, but take a look at our review to see how the beyond famous star compares to the regular famous star.
The Video Review
As you can tell from the video, my kids have differing opinions on meat vs. plant based meat, which is probably going to carry on for a while. While my son prefers the flavor of the meaty famous star, my daughter isn’t so keen on the flavor of beef and is fine with having plant based meat even though it is more expensive.
Honestly, when Carl’s Jr. layers on all the mayonnaise, ketchup, tomatoes and lettuce, the meat doesn’t really play a significant roll in the flavor of the burger. But my son was instantly able to tell which one was the plant based burger. Maybe if he tried the beyond famous star first, he would have had a harder time knowing that he was eating a plant based burger. My daughter might have known which one was which, but she has gotten used to the plant based beyond famous star and would order that one instead.
Overall, I agree with my son that you can taste a difference between the meat and beyond meat. And if the prices were reversed, if the plant based burger was cheaper than the beef burger, I would be satisfied with eating the plant based burger instead and would probably choose it for the cheaper price. But as it stands now, I’m still a meat eater.
