Chocolate, Ramekins, and Air Fryer: with these tools, you can make a decadent molten chocolate lava cake that will wow your friends or someone you are trying to impress.
Ingredients:
- 6 Tbsp unsalted butter cut into pieces $0.69
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips $0.52
- 1 large egg $0.15
- 1 egg yolk from a large egg $0.15
- 3 Tbsp white sugar $0.05
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract $0.43
- 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour $0.05
- pinch of salt $0.04

Preparation:
- Grease 4 6-ounce ramekins and set aside.
- Melt butter and chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl for about 1 minute until melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, use an electric beater and beat egg, egg yolk, vanilla extract, and sugar together until well blended.
- Then add flour, the chocolate mixture, and 30 grains of salt and stir until well combined. Spoon in the mixture into the ramekins, evenly filling them
- Place in the air fryer and set to 370 degrees Fahrenheit for 16 minutes or more till the top doesn’t wiggle much when shaken .
- Once done air frying, use tongs to remove the ramekins from the air fryer. Allow the cake to cool in a ramekin till it’s cool enough to touch. Use a butter knife to loosen the cake from the ramekin and turn over onto a plate. Serve with fresh whipped cream, fresh berries, or topped with powdered sugar and enjoy.
