Skillet French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ tablespoon cinnamon-sugar mixture
  • About 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 6 slices of bread, or until the custard is used up.

Preparation:

  1. Add to the beaten eggs the milk, vanilla and cinnamon-sugar mixture and mix well
  2. Heat up a skillet to about medium heat.
  3. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the pan.
  4. Dip the slices of bread in the egg mixture making sure to fully coat the bread and place it in the skillet. Hopefully, you can fit 2 or 3 slices of bread in the skillet at the same time. Once the bread is nice and toasted brown, flip it over and brown the other side. Once both sides are nice and brown take them out of the skillet and place them on a plate.
  5. Repeat until all the egg mixture has been used up.

Results

The flavors of the overnight French toast come through in a more pronounced way but the bread is soggier. The skillet French toast it more firm, but there isn’t much cinnamon or egg flavor to taste. All three contestants preferred the overnight French toast for it’s flavor.
