Is There Irresistibly Sensational Seafood in This California Paradise?

If you’re taking a vacation in Catalina, you are most likely going to need to eat. And unless you decide to pack your own food, you are likely in the need of a decent albeit expensive meal in this small island paradise.

So to satisfy our cravings, we decided to try out one of the many local fish restaurants, NDMK.

We started with the Da Bomb Shrimp appetizer and it was a little too sweet for my tastes. I’m not that much into shrimp that has been drenched in a BBQ sauce so it wasn’t really my cup of tea.

But that didn’t stop us from enjoying a few of the sushi rolls: the B-Rock Roll and the Rattlesnake Roll. About the same quality you will find in any sushi restaurant in California. The rolls were nice and flavorful and dabbed in a tasty unagi sauce.

On to the Sesame Crusted Tuna salad. I’m not sure if Hawaii ruined me, but any time I try to have tuna in California, it just never matches the great tasting fresh raw tuna of Hawaii. Maybe the seas around the island have a special effect on the tuna there, but I am always a little disappointed in the tuna I get in California as a result. No complaints about the other ingredients, and the wasabi laced salad dressing gave the salad a kick that most sushi lovers will enjoy,

Lastly, it was time to try the shark tacos. Yes, that’s right, they had shark tacos there and I must say, this was the most enjoyable dish of the night. The smokiness of the grill matched with the shark meat elevated your standard fish taco to another level. Absolutely would have the fish tacos and NDMK again.
