Is This Vegetable Chopper Slicer Dicer a Surewin?

Is This Vegetable Chopper Slicer Dicer a Surewin?

Are all vegetable choppers from Amazon the same? No! Absolutely Not! I tried out this chopper from Surewin, sent to me by LHS and there are differences between this one and the Fullstar Vegetable chopper.

The Video Review

With the Surewin Vegetable Chopper Slicer Dicer, you get a fine dicer, a medium dicer, a fine grater, a medium grater and a mandoline slicing insert along with a small and intriguing spiralizing device. So it does have similar features to other choppers on the market, but the differences is in the details.

The vegetable holder below the chopper comes with a lid, so you can directly store the vegetables you process for a later time. Say you wanted to make soup in the evening and wanted to save time by slicing in the morning. You can slice your vegetables and then save them in the refrigerator for later.

But you’re probably wondering about the blades and how well it cuts. It dices well as long as you make the pieces you are dicing manageable. Soft cheeses and meats will not work, so don’t even try. Neither will fresh herbs unless you place the fresh herbs under a hard thin vegetable like a bell pepper or an onion or a potato. Which is a nice trick to use if you are making a pico de gallo which is the main reason why I have and love this vegetable chopper. The hands down two best uses are to dice up onions finely (no more tears) and to make quick work of making a tasty pico de gallo.

The graters are nice but if you compare them to stand alone or box graters, you will find you need to grate more since there are less teeth for grating your cheese or any vegetables you are grating. But the bonus is that you grate into the container below, so no cheese falls astray.

There is also a slicer, but this in no way should replace a standard mandoline or the absolutely best mandoline, the dash safe slice mandoline. You will not be able to julienne your vegetables and you will only receive one slicer that gives you approximately 2 mm thin slices.

Lastly it’s worth mentioning that you receive a spiralizer. There, I mentioned it. But the spiralizer leaves lots to be desired. Mainly that the spiralizer wastes a large amount of the middle of the vegetable you are spiralizing and the way that you spiralize isn’t very easy on the hands.

But if you are looking for a cheap chopper slicer dicer, this one will take care of your needs for chopping and dicing and slicing as long as you want very thin, 2 mm thick, slices.

And if you have your heart set on getting a vegetable chopper for your very own to save yourself some time in the kitchen, you can find many recipes where using the Surewin Chopper is a worthwhile investment in my book. Even though the book is specifically designed to explain the use of the Fullstar Vegetable Chopper, most choppers work in similar fashion, so the tips, tricks and recipes will apply to the Surewin Vegetable Chopper Slicer Dicer as well.
